Private Photo Dating in practice.
A private gallery changes who controls the reveal
Public galleries assume every visitor may see the same image. A private gallery lets the profile owner approve access individually.
Useful controls should make it clear who currently has access and allow that access to be withdrawn without deleting the entire profile.
The profile still needs a reason to request access
An empty silhouette and “ask me” gives another person little basis for interest. Description, intent and availability should do some work before a photo request.
A restrained non-identifying image can also communicate style without reusing a picture already connected to public accounts.
Photo access is one step, not a promise
Granting or requesting access does not create an obligation to continue. It simply supplies information that public discovery deliberately withheld.
The most useful products keep that interaction quiet and easy rather than turning it into a public popularity signal.
